youth in general seem to be much more understanding of gay culture than previous generations in general as we continue to progress.

again Dr Laura's use of the term "deviant" was not as benign as stating that the behavior violates cultural norms....there was derogatory connotation.

as to what sort of culture would be totally OK w/ gayness? well gay culture seems to think it's alright! and other animals are happy in their gayness!....

"Gay culture" is not a culture, but rather, it is a subculture that is quite legitimately labeled deviant. You perceive derogatory connotations when they are not intended; the button is in your mind. The meaning that you hear was not the meaning that the speaker/writer had in mind. When a subject is "loaded" for you, it is hard to imagine that someone else might be speaking dispassionately about it. But it is possible.

Schlessinger drew protests from a coalition of gay organizations after deeming gays "deviants" and "biological errors." She later apologized for those remarks ( ... )

It seems to me that she exercises her right to free speech quite well, she just doesn't like it when others speak freely back at her.

haha, I was actually quite drunk when I wrote this questionably coherent post. Hopefully it's not too unintelligible. xD
