I have to disagree with that. There are definitely mistakes! Some are more costly than others.

You're allowed to disagree. =-] I find it useful to contemplate the quoter: Miles is a master of improvisation and I think that his saying reflects his ability to turn the accidental note into a new theme. Perhaps if we did this more with our routine mistakes of life, we'd see them in a different light.
