Honestly, my daily work brings me close enough to death and injury that I no longer feel any particular need to seek out risk. Although that rapid does look *epic*, and I envy you that rush.
BTW, since your post about diet coke, my GF and I have completely quit drinking carbonated beverages. It's odd, but I have, in the past, quit somking cigarettes (and remain quit, at 5 years plus) have exercised dramatically more for a period of time, etcetera. I have made many changes in my lifestyle that were *supposed* to make me "feel better" but none of them did. I noticed no improvement in my breathing when I quit smoking, gained nothing in my energy level with 40 mins per day of cardio. but I *do* notice that I feem *significantly* better after quitting soda. Enough better, and in the absence of other positive changes (In point of fact, I have increased alcohol consumption slightly) tat I can really say that this is a game-changer.
So, thanks for that!
ETA, my GF reports similar improvement, and I see it in her.
You have done excellent work on your own health! Congratulations. That is really cool. Thanks for telling me. I've never been a regular diet soda drinker so I have no basis for comparison. The changes that come from exercise and smoking cessation are years down the line, so they are hard to detect. But when you are old and do NOT have COPD, then maybe you'll be glad. =-]
I'm a JOAT (jack of all trades), it boils down to farmer/residential rehab, but I also do a lot of mechanic work, logging, welding, etcetera, etcetera. Hardhat type work. Many of these activities have risks that are nontrivial and not particularly intuitive.
