Most of us think of places we inhabit in spatial terms. When you think about the internet, where do you "locate" it in your thoughts? When you log onto livejournal or facebook, does it feel like you are wandering into a familiar neighborhood? But ah, you are right that there is no "answer". Unplugging may be useful but only goes so far, and leading a totally translucent life is probably not a good idea. So?

I have no answer either. I guess since this situation is really new, to humanity-- this kind of connectivity -- we all are learning as we go and have to wing it, to invent it.
