I may know a source for purple shell beads for you. Ayla's Originals in Evanston, IL. aylasoriginals.com. If they don't have it on the website, call the store. They have a pretty extensive collection, of everything, really.

Nice work. I'm about to make myself sound really ignorant, but, what's a BJD?

Thanks for the link :) I'm a wee bit far from IL at the moment though, So I'll keep looking in my country for the moment, until my next US vacation in september.

A BJD is a ball jointed doll, often also refers to an ABJD - asian ball jointed doll. This is my boy, Barron before his face was done, from Iplehouse. I think that pretty much explains what they are but there is an article on wiki for further info. So all of the ones you see above are around 5" long at most because they're suited for a 1/3rd scale body. (Barron is 63cm tall)
