Offered: Necklace titled "Ten of Swords: The Private Life of the Rose Bride"
Natural (undyed) faceted garnet beads, black aurora borealis bicone glass beads, red and gold czech glass roses-in-hearts beads, sterling silver sword charms, sterling silver clasp with roses, handmade central pendant.
This piece is a tribute to Anthy from Revolutionary Girl Utena (Shoujo Kakumei Utena) and the central pendant contains art from the final arc of the series.
The necklace, as you can see from the photos below, is currently unstrung. It will be strung on red silk, and it will be knotted between every bead (necessary to prevent rubbing between the garnets and the glass). (I wanted it strung for the photo, but my silk was too heavy and I am waiting on an order of red silk in the correct size.) I estimate that it will be between 22 and 25 inches long when strung, and I can make it longer if desired.
The garnets are undyed and very high quality. They appear dark in the photo but should pick up redness when strung on the red silk, with the knots between each bead.
The central pendant is a photo-paper and glass pendant, handmade (by me). The solder is lead-free and the bail is silver. In the photos you can see some marks at the bottom where the paper adhered to the glass because of the heat of the solder; this is actually much less noticeable in person. The solder is not completely smooth -- this is one of the first pendants I ever made.
The back of the pendant is a mirror, because "in the end, all girls are like the Rose Bride."
I actually learned the techniques of stained glass soldering for the sake of making this necklace. I am pleased to let it go out into the world, in hopes that there will be someone for whom it will be as richly symbolic as it is for me.
A necklace for everyone who has been a Rose Bride and who has survived. And in memory of those who did not.

Here is the necklace sitting on my design board.
Here is the central portion of it. You can see the clasp, loose, in the middle.
Here is the pendant (it's tilted so as not to get the flash on the glass). You can see the area at the bottom where the photo paper has adhered to the glass. It really is much less noticeable in person.
