Current donations are now past $10,000 $30,000!!! and will continue climbing, as many people have not yet had a chance to donate. (I haven't only now have, though I am the proud winner of the Kazuya Minekura art book Backgammon and a Gundam Wing story by rushthatspeaks.) Dude, 10K was something like 12 hours and 7 pages ago.

I haven't been adding up with a calculator in hand or anything, just roughly totaling each page, and by my count, assuming there aren't scads of duplicates or liars (and I don't think there are. liars. because this is too beautiful of a thing to think that, man), it's somewhere in the twenty-eight thousand dollar range now.

Do you want some kind of check-in when a donation goes through? jonquil and I did it off-comm, and I've seen the confirmation of the donation, but you don't necessarily know that.

Sorry for butting in, but I just started reading this post and had had the same question earlier.

You should comment here with your donation, as a winning bidder:

Ah, thank you! I'm grateful for the butting-in; thanks to you I can look and see that jonquil has already reported it. So I can now stop fretting about being part of the count.

This might sound ignorant, and I may well have missed something, but is there a central treasurer to whom we are supposed to have auction winners send their payments?

Or is it charity of our choice?
*Feels dumb for asking...*

No. You give directly to an organization fighting for the cause, then email the seller your emailed receipt. See the user info and sidebar of the main page for instructions.

It was really a fantastic experience, both to observe and to participate in (as both a seller and a bidder) - and to see how much incredible (and often unusual) talent so many people posses. I only won one of my bids, but that's ok. I figure my other bids at least helped push the prices up. ;) The LJ community really should be proud of how well we all came together. Thanks to the entire team for ALL your hard work!
