UPDATE.
Sorry. Haven't been on here for a while (Job hunting etc). Anyway ... I've found myself a local part time / zero hours job delivering flowers from a nearby florist. Hours are variable each day, pay is min wage, it's 6 days a week and it's a small team which I prefer (Only 2-3 of us). I started last Sept and I'm quite enjoying it. Hope it last until

Unfortunately, it seems all across the country: developers are seeking farmers fields and other inappropriate greenfield sites then putting in building plans with companies that terrorize councils in such a way that their building plans go through, because councils cannot afford lengthy legal battles.
It is a sad state of affairs but there is little we as people can do about this, as we don't have the money to fight legal battles and petitions are only worth the paper they are printed on.
The problem also happens that the council is told one thing, that these homes will be for those who are homeless, but when they are built, they are sold to the rich.
