Wow! This is soooo interesting! I could listen to you talk about the differences for hours! (Maybe write a book one day?) Although I lived in the UK for a while a couple of years ago, I had completely forgotten just how different life is here from over there. (I prefer UK, actually. lol People are nicer over there in my eyes.) And yes, windows... ours are double glass and insulated. I even have sort of "tinted" ones at home, meaning in summertime less heat gets into my flat. :)

You are very lucky to live in the countryside and teach at a grammar school. In the city life is rougher, especially in my area. The more rural you go, the nicer people are. :)

I am so glad that you settled down nicely and found friends already.

OH! Weekend trips! That sounds exciting! If you ever have the time I highl recommend the isles Sylt or Föhr. (or Borkum but that one is a bit too far away from your place) The dunes there are amazing! :)

So happy for you my dear! *huggles*

There was also a bar in the evening (tried some German beer, didn't like it).

noooooooooo! Okay, so you know I already drink more than our usual circle of friends, but I'm not a beer-drinker, and I still find that there are some lovely German beers to drink. It's a matter of finding what you need to steer clear of. Small, local beers tend to be more confronting, but you may be in more chance of finding something you like - just don't be scared off by your first beer trials!

The practice lessons sound great. One doesn't need much grounding in heuristic teaching pedagogy, and you certainly don't with your history, but it still helps a lot to have it reiterated. yay!

I was also weirded out by double-decker trains. Yet to travel on one though.

Little things that throw me off a bit because they're different when I didn't expect them this. I've always found it's those small differences that knock one for six, rather than really different things that separate. Things that are so small it's hard to mention them - like USA toilets having ( ... )

Sorry for the late reply; I completely forgot I hadn't responded to these comments ;; I are a bad lj-er

XD Well I'll keep trying but I haven't yet found a beer I like, German or non-German. I'm not really a beer drinker... But I will try everything once and see~

Haha, the practice lessons were more funny than anything else at the time XD But they have turned out to be useful, too.

I've travelled on a few of them now and it's still very weird to be on the second floor O.o

Haha, yes! I was expecting the big differences so they didn't hit me as hard, I guess. The little ones are just really random and feel so strange. Like the lack of diversity is crisp flavours... O.o Amercian toilets do? Weird

Oh, they do? XD I've not been in a building with new enough windows, then!

I haven't actually tried the fanta yet but I shall try some soon! XD Oh goodness, all the kinderrrr. All the chocolate is so darn yummy. I feel like I eat too much of it out here XD

It's been a good start~ :3

Danke! xxx

Hi! Yep, I'm still in Germany (attempting to type on a German keyboard right now, actually, so please excuse any typos XD), I've just been... really bad at updating anything other than facebook in a long while |D

So, hello! Fanfiction and FY friends are indeed a good thing and becoming steadily more difficult to find, huh? Nice to meet you~

Haha, don't worry about that~ Maybe it'll encourage me to post and comment more! I totally understand the concept of blogging... yup.

Ooh, awesome! I remember some of your fics from back when I first got into the FY fandom and I'll always be excited to see more from you :3 Heh, to tell you the truth, I've seen you around in the fandom through the comm and through vraieesprit but I've never gotten up the courage to start a conversation ^^; I'm bad at meeting new people, even through the comfort of the relative anonymity of the internet. But I'm glad we started talking ^-^

So... I went back and had a look at some of your recent entries XD I'd like to say that if you ever want to fan-babble at me about Persona 4 - the animation, I am very happy to do so~ I've played the game at least three times now and the anime was soooo good. Naoto = <3, though Kanji is my favourite~ (if brain breaking... hearing SekiTomo do Kanji's shadow was hilarious; he sounds far too much like Chichiri for me! XD ( ... )
