Not cool, LJ. Not cool.

There are a LOT of reasons I do not want my LJ linked with my facebook.

Not the least of which being that I do not want my family on there finding out about my fics. Or the ones I read.

Another being that I'm paranoid certain people from my past will find me here and have years worth of material to make my life hell with ( Read more... )

I hear and feel you! (and I already got me a DW account, just in case. *sigh* )

Let's hope the protest will reach the LJ team and make them reconsider this idiotic feature.

I'm sort of in pouty child mode in that I don't want to learn a whole new site and I have a paid account here... *sighs* If the masses jump ship, then I will follow, like the sheep that I am.

Seriously! What the hell were they thinking to not even have an opt out button?

Oh, right, now those are some damn good reasons to be even more upset. :( I'm sorry to hear that. It's weird though that no one was asked beforehand whether they even wanted those features. I would have at least expected that those who have a paid account were asked.

Exactly! (I don't know if you know the famous 'Evil Overlord essay', there is a neat statement pointing out that a successful Evil Overlord should have everything tested by a 5 year old. (which is a very good idea, btw) And someone quoted and pointed that out to LJ in the protest thread. So much win! XD)

Pretty much. If someone posts a comment in one of your f-locked entries they can crosspost that comment to FB and it will contain a link to your entry. People from FB can't see the actual content of your entry, but they can see the title and anything that's quoted in the linked comment.

There's an update been added to the news post now that looks like they're going to fix it, though

...I'm missing something somehow. I guess I don't really care if people link my account around--my name isn't linked to it, and so it's not as though that's a ~big deal~?

MAYBE I AM JUST TIRED.
