Y'know, I've got nothing against the auction itself. Hell, it's a fun little idea. A good time had by all, etc, etc.

There's just one little thing.

Two-for-one deal? Really?

I'd ask if this was a joke, but if it is, it looks like one that it's too late to take back.

You could always drop out if it bothers you that much.

Thing is, I hear it's for charity. And it's the sort of thing I'd agree to if not for the little surprise detail.

I've made my opinion public, so I'm hoping I can get whoever bid to agree to the 'take turns' method as opposed to the 'both in one go' approach.

[...Something about this comment makes him feel weird, but he brushes it off.]

It's all simply for amusement and a sort of charity, I believe- I'm sure people are understanding about such things.

Still it was... bizarre to see the faces to the name-- and that you are, indeed, twins.

Yeah, the charity bit's kind of a sticking point, and a big reason I'm not just walking away from it.

'Bizarre', huh? Interesting word for it. Now why would you say that?

That's very kind of you.

[pen tap pen tap] I'm amazed at how many people from my dream are here. It seems that most of them are. Knowing that you are, indeed, twins and it isn't a sort of symbolism also clarifies another aspect of my dream.

Not sure I'd say that.

So you're saying that we both made it to your dream? Huh, I guess that saves me the trouble of figuring out how to bring up the fact that, yeah, you're definitely familiar.

[There are a couple of lines before anything forms; signs of a hesitant start. Ever since she saw that picture of Gene and Aim something's been nagging her at the back of her mind. Not that she knows why, but there's something about him that she's supposed to remember but just can't no matter how hard she tries (even Gene's statement seems familiar for reasons she can't understand). It's silly; it's not like she's seen either of them before (or at least, not that she recalls), so why is she feeling this way?

Plus, it's also embarrassing when she thinks of how she actually (just for a fraction of a second! ...Okay, maybe more than that) wanted to bid. She knows they won't ever know, but still! The fact that she actually thought of it-

No, she should just stop thinking about it. Just. She forces herself to actually write a sentence down (he can't see her blush, anyway).]

A bad joke?

[While waiting to see if the mysterious line-writer will actually say anything, Gene connects the lines together. Once, twice. It kind of starts looking like a badly rendered ladder before he responds to the response.]

It does seem to have fallen flat, yeah.

[The fact that he doesn't mention about the little hesitant lines makes her feel better, more relieved. Her handwriting's neater now, the usual precise script she always uses.]

At least they tried?

I suppose so, but I'm not about to hand out points for effort.
