Yeah, that was pretty much the default answer for Royai fans, for the most part. >_> Iunno, I was already a huge Royai fan before I read the manga.

Yeah, I think I watched the whole anime before reading the manga. It was a while before I realized there was a manga, (FMA was pretty much what introduced me to anime, so I didn't know much,) and I wasn't too interested in reading it until I found out there was a different storyline.
