☆014-I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day!

Well. I can honestly say that's the first time I've been tossed out of a place in the Bazaar because I 'scare small children'. (Which is bollocks. I'm pretty sure the old lady running the place was the only one frightened.)

...Out of curiosity, I don't suppose any of you would have tips on wielding axes, would you?

We can only hope. I'm sure they'll only be toughened by the encounter.

I'll take your word for it.

[Not too long from now, Bastet will get a visitor walking through the door of her establishment. A rather tall one since the monstrous boots add about three inches, and the ridiculous top knot adds a couple more yet. She might not recognize him as Gene right off the bat, but the black and white make-up and all black ensemble fit the description of 'death clown' pretty well. And if that doesn't give it away, the axe-shaped guitar probably clenches it.]

[Despite the prior warning, and the fact that she sensed him coming, Bastet still blinked when Gene came through the door in all his hideous glory.

As she'd said, her own clothes were risque, but not all that bad; the worst part for her was the underwire of the unfamiliar bra poking her ribs. She never wore bras, and this was just confirmation that she'd had the right idea all along.]

Your hair too, huh?

[Motions to his now-black hair, then tugs at a blond ringlet falling over her shoulder]

[Well, she didn't burst into laugher, like he had fully expected her to. That was a plus, and about all he could ask for given the circumstances.

As for her outfit... well. He had to admit it was a much better use of leather and studs than he was sporting, comfort level or no.]

Yup. [He leaned against the counter, nearly mirroring her action by lifting a lock of his own hair.] Though I'd say that's the part I'm least bothered with. [He glanced down at the spandex pants and leather studded codpiece and just... shook his head.]

Gotta say, you actually don't make a half-bad blonde.

[The makeup was what had caught her attention initially, so when he brought her attention to the codpiece, she couldn't help but snicker. Between that and the horrible boots, she had to give him credit for leaving the house at all today.]

You say that as though I don't always look good, Gene. But I've gotta say, I definitely prefer your normal look.

[Ahh, there was the laughter he was expecting. As for venturing outside of the house, he'd been relying on the fact that most people wouldn't recognize him. He didn't even have his usual accent to tip them off, since the 4Kids event gave him an American dub one.]

If that's how I said it then my execution must be off. And... I can't argue with you there. I've come this close to twisting my ankle about three times today. Fudge these lift boots. [He scowled as he realized his word choice had been changed once more.] And this censorship, for that matter.

[Still chuckling, she managed a sympathetic grimace when his words very obviously did not come out the way he wanted them to.]

Yeah, I've seen a few people with similar problems. I'm just glad I didn't get stuck in spiked heels.

[sighs, still grinning]

With any luck, you'll be back to your regular foul-mouthed, tastefully dressed self in no time.

At this rate, I should probably be grateful for the same. [Said with a wry grin. He knew the guys of the Sphere weren't immune to being tortured with heels.]

I can only hope.

[Out of the corner of his eye, Gene saw one patron who had escaped the latest madness that was staring at them. He turned around, stood to his full height and smirked at the man. The face paint gave it an unusually sharp look.]

See something interesting?

[The man started at being caught staring, mumbled something, then edged toward, then out the door. Gene shrugged, then turned back to Bastet still grinning.] ...Well, it wasn't a small child, at least.

[She outright laughed when the man ran off, and pushed some blonde curls out of her face.]

Ah, I knew you'd figure out how to have fun with it. Even if it means scaring off my customers.

[It wasn't a jab; she really didn't care. She could more than live off her salary as Captain, so this was just extra.]

Gotta have your fun while you can, right? Though, if you're worried about me hurting your revenue, I'm sure we could do something to make this profitable, or at least functional.

[He glanced over at his spiky, metallic shoulder... guards? Armour? And tapped one.] Maybe I could serve time as a coat rack.

Nah, don't worry about it. Like you said, it's been a while; I don't mind not being interrupted.

[It had been a while; a thoughtful look crossed her face as something occurred to her.]

Actually, there's something I've been meaning to tell you. [chuckles] But I keep managing to put off coming to see you.

I'd say I'm hurt that you keep putting it off, but honestly, I've not done much better.

[He cocked his head to the side.]

All right, I'm curious. What's up?

Ah, it's nothing too bad.

[Settles herself more comfortably on her chair, and rests her elbows on the counter.]

Remember when some of us got stuck with those hourglasses?

It's hard to forget. [Gene's expression took on a vaguely sour tone when he remembered how much worry those things caused.] What about them?

Well, when the sand ran out, we were stuck in clear cocoons for a day, sleeping.

[She still remembered the creeping dread as the sand fell into the bottom of the glass, and watching as her loved ones did their best to put on a brave front.]

And I think I had your dream. I heard Aurora bitching at the end, so it couldn't have been Neil's.

[Her mouth twisted in wry amusement; she still had a difficult time mourning his loss on its own merits, even if he had been important to a lot of her friends.]

[Gene nodded along to that description. He hadn't seen any of the cocoons trigger, but he had seen one of the glass cocoons, and heard that dreams were an after affect.]

...Did you, now? [He thought for a moment. That would apply to the second dream, not the first. He inwardly sighed with relief, glad that he wouldn't have to go over some of the finer points of the first dream with Bastet. And he couldn't help a snort of amusement at her deduction.] Waste of perfectly good dream time, if you ask me.

[He took a breath through his nose and closed his eyes.] So you were inside the house?

Yeah.

[She'd felt the way all the light and warmth had been sucked out of the house, the voices vanishing to reveal an empty, dusty room. It wasn't hard to guess what it could mean.]

And then I was looking out at space.

[She'd felt disoriented, although she could tell that Gene hadn't felt the same way. Space had featured prominently in Sniper's dream as well, although he hadn't been behind the safety of glass in his.]
