Just scrolled through this post so as to not read spoilers.

I have not read any of these books, and have somehow totally missed the hype and only just heard of them the other day - and I work in a library! >_< I might read them once all the reserves go off them at work ;)

Maybe you'll want to watch the movie first, Emma, before you commit to reading four books. =\ It might not be your kind of thing. Then again, it's not really my kind of thing, yet I still read them. Lots of people love the books, but so many hate them with a passion. I don't recommend these books to people, but if they decide to read them, I just say, "It's up to you." 。^__^。

Her being a Mormon has a great deal to do with how she writes...Teenage pregnancy is perfectly acceptable/encouraged (after marrying at 17 or 18 to Returned missionary of course)

*rolls eyes*

*sigh*

I still liked the book--I liked that is had a happy ending--I wonder if she will do another series with Nessie and Jacob?

I do agree with the fight scene comment though...I think they should have ousted the Volturi, just for being smelly jerks.

I assumed her Mormon background would effect her writing when it came to the sex stuff, but I didn't even think about the whole pregnancy thing...especially in a vampire book. Oh wells.

I don't know if she'd want to do another series focusing on Jacob and Renesmee. The fandom is kind'a split over the existence of Renesmee, so it'd be a big risk on her part.

Haha, I agree about the Volturi. They're so high and mighty, it would've been nice to see them get their ancient butts kicked. All we got was Bella blocking their powers. ::yawns::

Where was the ASs kicking?? LOL

I mean we all know it's young adult, but really? REALLY?

There is more in PG-13 movies!

I hear in the Twilight Movie though---Edward rips off James' head :D

Yeah you would be suprised how her religion affects her writing--she could even be excommunicated over writing something they didnt agree with--she actually got alot of crap over the fact her main characters were Vampires and werewolves--I suppose when they got 10% of her income they shut up...Isnt that how it works? >:D

I'M TERRIBLE I KNOW!!!!

*sigh*

When you said, "Edward rips off James' head," I prematurely read, "Edward rips off Bella's clothes." LOL. I did see a clip where Alice does some head-ripping. That's how they kill, right?

Since you know more about these vampires than I do (or at least have a better memory of the books, I'm sure), do vampires heal the way werewolves shape shifters do? Like if someone were to slash Jasper with a knife or something, does anything happen, e.g., venom (not blood) seeps out of the skin and then closes up right away? I always forget these kinds of details.

Wow, I agree with almost everything in your review. BD did seem more mature in its themes, and I was glad; it provided somewhat of a respite from the endless talk of E and B's love and devotion, which, I mean, was okay, up to a certain point. Ugh. And I liked Renesmee too. *cuddles her* :)

The endless talk of Edward and Bella's love for one another is supposed to be the central part of the story, I suppose, as SMeyer herself said that, in essence, these books are a love story between the two characters. But I agree with you that it was nice shifting the focus away from E/B for a bit. They finally have eternity together after she transforms, so...let's move on to something/someone else.

I'm glad you like Renesmee's character too. She creeped me out in the beginning when she was still in the womb, but after she started showing her special gift, I was like, "Aww!" ♥ The little nudger.

you pretty much wrote the kind of entry i wanted about breaking dawn but didn't have enough motivation to write. hehe. so kudos for a great job! oh and i LOVED the edward's pov spoof you linked, and i shared it with a few friends of mine who've also read the series. they thought it hilarious as well. LOL

i most heartily agree with your opinion of the ending! i love happy endings; i'm a sap and i thought this ending tied things up really well for the series.

i forget, have you read the host yet?

Haha! I typed out a bunch of stuff as soon as I finished reading the book so that I'd be able to compose an entry for my LJ. The same thoughts are posted here, just in a more organized manner. I'm glad you liked that Edward POV recap of the book! I need to read again - I could use some Friday funnies. =D

I have not read The Host yet. I traded two of my Twilight books with my friend for her Host book, but neither of us have read each other's books yet. ;P I will...eventually.
