Man, he had a better offer from Tessa. Poor, poor, poor Dean.

I know. Granted, while the end of this episode had that Plot Anvil feel, at the same time, Dean needs to be beat about the head sometimes so he'll understand in detail what he's done. He's going to become that which he hunts. It's not as simple as what the Reaper told him, that if he makes the choice to stay, he will become an angry spirit. No matter what he does, when he dies, he will lose his humanity and become a demon, the thing that destroyed his family, killed all hope of Sammy ever having a normal life, all of it. It's huge, and Dean is only now able to see what the tragedy of his choice is.
