I think you have here summed up like all my thoughts on this episode. I seriously thought about posting in the middle of the episode after Sam's "I lost my shoe."

Yes! That killed me ded, right then and there. I squealed so loud, I'm sure the neighbourhood thinks I'm actually a small dog that got its tail crushed or something.

And yes, Bela was awesome. Shooting Sam, not so awesome, but I though having her shoot Sam was a smart writing move.

It was a smart writing move, and it made her clever. The wounding was perfect, her trying to kill Sam would've seemed...I dunno, over the top. I just liked the balance she struck. She's not trying to beat the boys at their own game. She doesn't give a shit about their game, she's got her own stuff.

I agree. I think it's because she's not trying to insert herself into the boys' life and story, she got dragged in, and she kept trying to get out. I like the people who wander through their lives as opposed to the people who are determined to be in there.

SERIOUSLY. Unless there is something else RIDICULOUSLY adorable this season (and it would have to be like, Sam rolling in puppies while he drew rainbows and Dean sprinkled glitter on him or something), that is going to be my high point. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING BETTER. I just wanted to scoop him up and squish him, despite the fact that he's, you know, a giant.

OH GOD, the meat fork. I covered my eyes. :(

I really hope you're right about the plot arc getting off to a good start and then being relentless, that's what I was hoping for this season. :)
