I am just back to civilization after a live fire exercise. I am sunburnt, sleepless for three days, and was so filthy that I had to wash my bathtub after I had soaked my weary bones. But my students were fantastic-they flowed across the desert like ghosts: disciplined, silent, fluid....I was so proud

The unit I was working with was firing their 105mm howitzers. If someone is very lucky she might wind up with some pictures of the event soon....

Aw, thanks. The award is a complete and total surprise, but apparently there will be quite a crowd there given their insistence on my RSPV and the number of my party. I really hope I can get away with saying "thank you" several times and skate off stage towards free food.

As for teaching, it is easy when the students are so goddamned motivated. They were fantastic.
