So... I just discovered this now, but it's just what I needed today.
I absolutely love this, and I agree that this is how they should write Tony out.
I love how you had them both being nervous and awkward (which is perfectly natural and understandable) and then after a minute everything falls into place and all is right with the world again. Because we know Tony and Ziva are at their best when they're together. I haven't watched NCIS since Ziva's exit, but Tony did make an appearance on NCIS:LA this year, and I got the distinct impression that he really hasn't been himself since she left. It was actually pretty painful. So yeah, I kind of need this to happen. And if it doesn't, I'll pretend it did. (Hey, it's all fiction anyway, right?) :)
