I'm currently reading an article about the history of fan campaigns vs. networks, and there's a special kind of irony that at the bottom of this site it suggests:

Sammy, it might be time for a new pep-talk post- or maybe you want people to be wailing and whining this week, I'm not sure. But everyone IS wailing and whining about Chris Willman's tweets from this afternoon. I

Including me! I felt so deflated after I read his comments about her maybe coming back for a series finale- and then reading MW's comments and GG's comments in the USA today article did not help either:( It just reminds me that she IS off the show, and there's at least a 50% chance that she won't be coming back at all for anything. And don't get me started on the fact that Tony and Ziva are finally admitting their feelings for each other- for all of about 2 minutes, and then Tony will "move on."

I keep wanting to post on FB, but 11 days later I'm still blocked- does anyone have any idea on how to get unblocked? I wasn't going to open a new account but I might just have to do it for this week.

Why are they wailing about Chris's tweets? I, for one, am glad that he chose to tell us in advance what to expect. Finally someone who doesn't sugarcoat the truth. Also, that particular truth is something I've warned about ever since they started talking about her last episode. My sympathy for the people who didn't want to listen and whine now is limited, sorry to say that.

Besides, his interaction with the fans was more than refreshing. He listens to us.

Haven't seen the USA Today article (comes from no longer visiting Tumblr), so I have no idea what they said there.

for all of about 2 minutes, and then Tony will "move on." Again, no sympathies from me - I warned about this from the very first interview on, but most people chose not to listen and believe in a happily ever after instead, against all odds and reason ( ... )

hmm. Well, for the first part, I'm glad I did not have high hopes for these 2 eps. It's easier. So many people were still somehow- and like you said, against all odds and reason- expecting a rainbows and cotton candy ending. I have no idea why, because NCIS has never done that for its characters.

As for FB, I wonder if that's what it is- the haters reported me for spam or whatever. But I don't know how to tell.

To be honest (and no unkind intent at all here), Willman's tweets are still simply his opinion. The only person who can say with any degree of accuracy when - or if - she would come back is Cote herself.

Preaching to choir...but.. the only way to get to that point is to keep the pressure on CBS. To make sure they get a clear picture of how much Ziva and Cote are appreciated by the majority of fans AND seen as irreplaceable members of the NCIS family.

Couple other fandom campaigns to add to your list.

Veronica Mars, that fandom hired a plane to fly over network headquarters with a banner reading "Renew Veronica Mars", they organised volunteers in several cities to distribute fliers and sent 30,000 mars bars into the network headquarters. This loyal fandom has been rewarded with a movie funded by kickstarter.

And then there's Chuck. The fandom had to campaign to keep the show alive and they managed to keep it on the air three years longer than most people thought it would last. Some would say the Chuck fandom should not have fought so hard because the latter seasons were crap, but the fact remains that they revived their show.
