As I'm writing our three musketeers closer and closer towards opening a detective agency together, I have to gradually face the fact that I simply cannot come up with a snazzy name this time, and everything that tickles my mind either sounds insanely cliché or has already been used as the title of a crime show

I think that after years of hearing "NCIS? Is that like CSI?" They'd go with the most obvious title ever. Can't wait to see your title you chose :)

Lol! Well, they're trying to do something apart from NCIS now, so that's out. My mind kept going to "Cold Case" at first, and each time I thought, no, bad Sammy, that's a TV show already. ;)
