About NCIS 10x12 - Shiva

Jan 18, 2013 01:52

So... everyone still alive? No? Well, same here, so it's alright. And apparently America was dying as a collective, because we raked in 22.86 million viewers with that episode. Which makes it officially the most-watched NCIS episode ever. The reason I'm explicitly dropping this stunning number here is to deliver one final sneer into the haters' ( Read more... )

Just LOVE your review (found it via tumblr)! This episode was amazing, and I can't wait to see how they develop all these things further. It just really struck me too how much growing-up Tony's done :)

Yeah, I saw your name in the lump of new followers over there. Welcome! :D In case you're interested, I've been doing these reviews for quite a while now - have them all collected in this tag.

I didn't think it would be possible to cry harder than Tuesday night but apparently it is. Thank you. You have put words to every feeling that's kept me teary for two days.
I have more years of television viewing (you are the same age as my elder daughter) and nothing comes close to emotional impact of this one.

Thank god I'm not alone there. I mean, I've watched countless TV shows, and a lot of them were very, very clever in ripping out my heart - but I've never felt like this. And the impact doesn't lessen after a few days, that's the astonishing part. It wasn't just a one-time hit.

Also - I can assure you, I cried several times while writing this, too.

"For me, the iconic image of this exquisite episode is that of Tony, in his long coat, appearing like a guardian angel sent by God at the exact moment he was needed."

As if I hadn't done enough crying, (and this is very awkward since my piano tuner is here...) you throw this at me. That's it right there, he's her gardian angel. *sobs*

They gave us a preview in Shabbat Shalom, when Tony is standing over Eli's body. I thought he was standing guard over Eli. After Shiva, now I know he was standing guard over Ziva. I am so in love with Tony right now it's not even funny.

I totally agree about getting the nightmare scene out of our system via the promos cause then we had the ending scene to look forward to!!! I agree about the hands too, it took me by surprise because considering how they hardly touch at all - yes, get into each other's personal space, of course, but I'm talking about TOUCHING touching, their hands just fit together so seamlessly, it took my breath away. And I love how Tony didn't hesitate to touch her like he would usually.

And I don't even have the words to describe his eyes as she walks to the plane.

I know. I know. MW just... nails it every time he looks at her, good God. And the perfect balance of Cote's quivering lip and the unshed tears in her eyes that sparkle in the night, bravo.

oh ... one more thing I just noticed about the nightmare scene.

She's sleeping with the light on. Tony left the light on for her.

I loved your analysis, babe. :) I always do. You're so dang smart. Ugh. Yes, yes, yes, and yes. You always make everything clearer and make even more sense.

And I gotta admit, I seriously laughed out loud when you brought up that poor extra who's not only missing computer equipment but HALF A DESK, LMFAO!!! OMG, I have never noticed her before! Oh geeze, oh how I laughed...

That poor gal has had the same crappy job of air-typing for years, seriously. I saw a Tumblr post with caps through the seasons of her floating around once. Either they simply don't learn to adjust the camera angle or by now it's become an in-joke with the crew, too. Either way, it's the desk just to the right of the big plasma beside Gibbs's desk. ;)
