Yet another question about the new season, asked over on Tumblr. Since my lengthy answer is based on a biggish spoiler for the first two episodes... spoiler cut for anr. ;)
So Ms Sammy, having said that, do you think GG might address any repressed feelings Ziva might have about Somalia. Saw a spoiler where it said Eli loved his daughter which might fit into the spoiler about Ziva having some kind of life changing event midway through the season...
Just wondering.
Cause like you, I always felt that was all so glossed over for not only Ziva, Tony and Gibbs but McGee as well.
Definitely interesting. I'm not quite sure that the Eli-affection thing ties into the the event with Ziva mid-season, though; what I've read about the event kinda hinted that it would be a bad thing, or at least pretty serious. I'm leaning toward the idea of Eli getting concerned about the bomb at the Navy yard, and his daughter's condition. Who knows, though. I guess we'll just have to wait for the premiere!

Piping in to say that so far there was one single mention of it so far, and the "bad" was - as usual - the reporter's twist (and later the fans' imagination) on Gary's words. GG just said something about "a big reveal" for Ziva mid-season, and that can mean a lot of surprising things, without any bad tones to it.
M.E. - I'll get back to you, I only have half an hour left before I need to run off, and I won't manage a good answer in that time. ;)
Very true. I suppose I figured that the reporter was paraphrasing or conveying that negative feeling from something GG said that hadn't made it in the article, but I guess I'm a little too trusting ;P. Thanks for pointing that out.
One 100% agree with this. But you know that! Gary is a fantastic story teller who has been stonewalled and undermined heavily from the minute he joined the show. There were great seeds planted in S8, but as we all know, the storytelling was all over the place. Things were all over the place. Good stories were laid out only to be messed up in the end. And even though I have mainly defended the man, at the end of S8 I too was severely pissed at GG with how things ended in "Pyramid". Then the news came that Shane Brennan had completely stepped down as show runner and that GG was head honcho as of S9. And it confirmed for me something that I already suspected for a while; Shane Brennan was still the head honcho, while we all believed GG took over in S7, SB still made all the big decisions. Looking back, yeah, that is very visible. In S9 Gary Glasberg has shown me that he is not only a brilliant story teller, but someone who cares tremendously for "his" show and it's characters, and also for it's fans. He addressed almost every little
