About NCIS 9x20 - The Missionary Position

What we have here is a clear case of screaming and helpless fannish flailing. Also, since the episode turned out to be chock-full of it, a whole bunch of lesbian subtext... which will probably alienate my "regular" readers a bit, much like my views on the McGee/Dornegate subtext did. Proceed with caution, and yes, I don't expect many reactions to ( Read more... )

The fairy dust is back *happydance!* ext_1156668 April 12 2012, 00:48:59 UTC
Sigh....THANK YOU! I've spent the last 23-some hours trying to figure out that last scene, and with all the tumblr talk about the translation of that damn quote, you're the first one who's actually EXPLAINED the line. I speak fluent Spanish, so I got what he was saying, I just didn't understand why. It was lovely and oh-so-sexy coming out of MW's mouth, but it seemed so sudden and random and out of place. But this makes perfect sense; he couldn't stand the thought of losing Ziva (figuratively or literally) to Monique's shady Colombian adventures. Not when they've come so far. Because he can't live without her, can't do this without her, can't be without her... *sobs big ugly tears ( ... )

Good point - Ziva didn't want Tony & Monique in the same room together just as Tony didn't Ziva & Wendy in the same room together.

Duh! *Gibbs slaps self*

I agree completely. mrs_dinozzo33 April 12 2012, 01:18:23 UTC
You're such an observant person, and I usually only catch half of what you do. I feel so ashamed to say that I didn't even think to translate the quote at first, so naturally I was kinda mad that (I thought) they didn't do the whole Tony's-feelings-revelation thingy, but wow. I can't believe he actually said that. I've just been totally blown away since I read the translation. It just doesn't seem like something he would usually say, especially when he KNEW Ziva could understand. Trust me, I'm not complaining :) it's really good to see him totally putting himself out there (even if Ziva was weirdly unresponsive to it this episode, which kinda puzzled me). I completely agree with you on the Ryan thing, too. I can't believe she slept in the bedroom. GIBBS has barely even slept in there. So thanks so much for writing these, and really great review as usual.

You know my thoughts on this one and as usual they completely match yours, even down to Ryan this time around. I have a sneaky feeling about her too. And I did NOT like the fact she withheld the info like that. The fact that Gibbs stepped over that so fast is A) like you said, he's playing her too or B) He already knows a lot more about her than he tells her and understands why she does the things she does, because Gibbs' gut doesn't allow him to get suckered in by a woman like that and be played in the process ( ... )
