On showrunners and running shows

So, this is one of the essays that have been brewing inside my mind for a while now - actually since the beginning of this season. And the airing of the 200th episode seems like a perfect moment to finally get around to putting my somewhat random thoughts into clear words. What you say makes a lot of sense.
Although I am still not totally sold on GG.

I am definitely out of love with SB and have been for quite a while!

I am thinking after I see #200 tomorrow night, which is really and truly GG's baby,he grew it over the past 6 or 7 months maybe more - I might be able to say more.

And I must say, I should actually thank SB for giving you so many hooks to hang your stories on cause they have been a lovely, lovely part of my NCIS fandom addiction.

Very good and interesting analysis.
And I loved the 1st part, how you got hooked on NCIS when previous crime shows made you want to turn the tv off!

This...this is a GORGEOUS summary of the problems with what I've called the "angst crack" since S2 of Buffy when Joss Whedon got that First Best High out of turning Angel...and spent the rest of the series trying to get something That Gutting Again...while making it unbelievable to me that the characters could still even get out of bed in the morning. (See icon for attitude about showrunners.)

I'm going to have to send you all my reactions to S9; I've been typing them up as I watch and...wow...the healing and growth we've been allowed to see. It's awesome. I hope it's GG. I hope he lets things continue to grow from here. I'm really pleased with what I'm seeing.
