About NCIS 9x13 - A Desperate Man

Okay, second time around I actually like this one a lot better than my first reviewing attempt because I found so many more nuances in this episode since then, so yesterday's crash was good for something. ;) Aaand I didn't have quite as filthy a mouth when it comes to CI-Ray this time, so hey. ;) (There still are some big fat swear words in there, ( Read more... )

I have no time to comment properly. But i loved your recap!!

I loved ziva ushering ducky. Mostly because is is totally something that tony would and has done. I laughed so much :)

Hee! Glad you liked it. And you're right, that's totally a Tony thing! Ha!

I have to agree about how far they went to utterly trash Ray. I mean, it doesn't reflect well on Ziva. Her two serious boyfriends on the show are both killers and assholes ( ... )

you misused grief a couple of times in there

Ugh. Fixed that, thank you.

I *know* this, of course. It just slipped through. Probably because of the pronounciation, that sounded like the harder "f" to me. I also blame the fact that it's 3:30 am over here now and I'm officially sick for the rest of the week. (The meds are a good excuse, yes? ;) )

Meds are an excellent excuse for everything, I always say.

I really disliked what they did to Ray (and how that reflects on Ziva) so that colored my perception of the whole episode. It really bothered me, and I still think Ziva is lacking some fun nice relationships in her life before she can ever get with Tony (though I doubt that will happen). That said, there were things I liked that you touched on, and I love the caps.

I think the final scene was a way of the writers telling the audience these two are going to be in the "friends" zone for a while, to get used to it, but it doesn't discount there being more feelings there for something down the road. I think the way it was written was a message that they are going to be presented as friends, close friends, for a while with little romance/flirtatiousness. It seemed like their way of putting a lid on the T/Z story for a while to be revisited in the future.

Hee. I think I'm going to say the same thing I said last week - I guess it depends with what state of mind you go into it. To me it felt completely different, and dropping it again after such a careful buildup doesn't feel like GG's way of telling a story.

Ah, well. We'll see how things play out. :)

*bawls* Why are your reviews so damn good??? I loved this episode, for so many reasons. I love that you brought out in the open all the subtext, foreshadowing, and visual cues that I thought were so well done, right down to the victim/husband being mirrors of our dynamic duo. The only thing that keeps nagging at the back of my mind is that they set up the potential here for Tony to look at how badly the detective is suffering, and think that in the end, it's just not worth it-that he can't suffer that much again. I mean, when he thought the Damocles went down, there was no lifeless, eyes wide open body for him to see. And I completely agree with the case inconsistencies...those were big WTF? moments for me, as well. Ah well, you win some, you lose some...

So good! I loved every word and swiped a lot of HD caps (precious). Tony was so supportive and "careful" with Ziva, just the opposite of the Rivkin mess. She has to see him as a friend, a very, very good friend.A Cherished friend from now on. And of course she can't denyfor much longer that she is hot for Tony as a mate some day. She will jump in, feet first...sigh.
