About NCIS 8x16 - "Kill Screen"

Feb 24, 2011 01:06

Let me just preface this by saying that this review will be filled with lots and lots of mindless squees because it amused the living daylights out of me. Few plot holes, lots of tech holes, but in the end? Doesn't really matter because even my inner geek could suspend its disbelief and instead chose to howl at the hilariousness that was this ( Read more... )

Did you SEE her eyes that WHOLE scene after she gets off the elevator with McGee?!? If that's not a look of adoration I don't know what is. She tried to pass it off as an annoying three hours with goofy!Tony but I don't believe that for ONE SECOND.

So this fic...are you going to go with a post-Somalia claustrophobic vibe or a second chance at Boxed In vibe? Because one is full of wonderful angst/comfort/I-need-you-confessions talk, and the other one is full of wonderful humorous/dirty/truth-or-dare-come-clean talk. The possibilities are ENDLESS!!

I love how you caught their body language in the last scene, I totally missed it, but it only makes it more squee-able :) Also, the yoga scene was hilarious, and I LOVED Palmer with his Chanel knock-off knowledge and his zombie explanation.

I'm so excited about this future fic it's insane. Thanks for the great recap, have a good night!

Hee. How insane will it make you when I say "neither"? ;)

Seriously, I have something else entirely on my mind - something that fits perfectly within the context and feel of this episode.

BUT that will most likely have to wait because I started writing another one this morning. After more than a year, I have apparently finally wrapped my head around what *my* version of the Somalia happenings is. And this will pretty much be a first class mindfuck.

Insane in a good way!!! I like to be surprised, so lay it on me, sister! I'm so psyched to read your take on it :)

You just like torturing me, don't you? Now I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for TWO amazing fics?! Goodness gracious, I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself. Oh wait...there's studying. Le sigh.

Thanks for giving me some wonderful things to look forward to! I'm gonna be in happy dance mode for quite a while!

I thought the episode was kind of dull, but I always have fun reading your reviews.

Small voice: I too definitely notices Tony's comment about "you like a girl, she likes you, don't be an idiot," but I actually took that as an anvil about the upcoming EJ character. I think Tony's going down the road of "fine, the Ziva thing's not going anywhere, I like this girl, I'm going to go for it." Just a feeling.

Hey, I'm a geek and gamer. I was sort of the target audience here. ;) I totally understand if non-geeks look at it and go "Bwuh?"

And noooo way is he falling for EJ. They've been doing T/Z promo shots. Two of them. Like, couplish. For the first time since season three (when they were basically actively shipping them). No way would they do that it they intended to rip them apart now. *put foot down firmly*

;)

:) Don't get me wrong, I'm not the "OMG they're going to drop T/Z!" type at all. The shippiness ain't going anywhere. Hell, it's pretty much an official ship at this point, don't see how it could be seen otherwise. But they love their angst they can throw at them. I just think that the line was an anvil for Tony being like "fine, I'll go for it with blonde agent girl" instead of being a dumbass ending up all alone. She'll be gone eventually though and it'll once again be "you went for it with the wrong one, dumbass."

I agree with everything you said concerning Tony and Ziva mewofford February 24 2011, 01:36:44 UTC
Which is what makes what's coming so hard to think about. Next week we meet Tony's new love interest. It just depresses the hell out of me. And makes me doubt either my sanity or the producers'.

Like you I believe the gunrunner with the incredibly sexy voice will be back by season's end. Loved when he told Gibbs he was more imposing in person even if a bit more gray. hehe

I look forward to your story based around the missing 3 hours very, very much. And also a Somalia story as well. That would be most excellent. It will help me keep going through the end of this season and the anti-TIVA I fear is coming. wanhhhhhhh

Ha. There won't be anti-T/Z. Not after they did couplish promo shoots with them. TWO shots at that.

Trust me, my gut still insists they're going somewhere. And that's coming from someone who's an eternal pessimist. ;)

I hope and pray you are right but I fear you are not.

How is that for some kind of wishy washy optipessit?

The whole romantic sparks thing with Tony and this new girl who is signed for several episodes...that depresses me. For some reason, I am not worried about Ray. I don't think he is a romantic interest for Ziva at all. Although if they get Jimmy Smits to play him,I might change my mind.

I haven't seen any couplish promo shots. Where were they?

Alyss posted them here, the first two. They're official promo photos, same series as the current autograph pic and the bar/poker series. So pretty! ♥

And now I'm off to bed.

Brilliant review as always. I think if not for your reviews, I won't get half of what happened in the episode. For e.g. until I looked at your screen pictures, I missed the look on Ziva's face when that gamer came and called McGee Mc Germinator. Maybe cos I was so busy laughing cos seriously, that was so funny. I am also not very good at deciphering people's body language so although I thought that Tony and Ziva looked happy and relaxed in this episode, its nice to have it confirmed. About Tony's words 'life's too short', I was really cracking up when I read your comment on that. 'Do we have to record those words and play it on a loop'. Ya, really, he needs to start following his own advice soon or I for one am gonna lose it. I also loved the opening scene, that guy saying its not his bag when all the fingers fell out after previously saying it was his bag. And agree about those parts of the eppy that didn't make sense. I was really puzzled as to why they waited until the next morning to process that crime scene at Maxine's house. ( ... )
