So, we pretty much all agree that Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo has great hands, right? Strong hands, nicely shaped, just made for holding... things. Or thighs. Or... well, you get the picture.

His hands can use any number of descriptors of awesomeness.

But the one word that does not work for them is "calloused ( Read more... )

You certainly pay attention to detail, don't you?

It's just one of the things that throws me out of it faster than I can say "beep!", simply because it doesn't sit right with the character. (In other words - yes, I am anal, in some ways. :D )

That doesn't give you callouses, usually. Unless you're doing it a lot more often than his physique (though yummy) suggests.

Also, that's apparently a matter of taste because I humbly think that most callouses make body parts look ugly...

I always assumed that he would have callouses from using a gun regularly. But then Ziva would have them as well and probably even more as she's far more of a martial artist than Tony will ever be.

And I can see Tony going for a manicure and hand-treatment to take care of them.

He's been in law enforcement at least fifteen years. He would have gun calluses, even if he gets manicures (which are helpful, but not magical). But the good thing about fic is that you can always ignore that and write his hands how you like them.

I have never handled a gun, so I don't know how prominent these are/can turn out. I have one on my middle finger from writing so much. But one or two is not what I associate with "calloused". "Calloused" are worker's hands to me, but I might just interpreting it differently.

But the good thing about fic is that you can always ignore that
