Cati's presentation [open rp]

Jun 02, 2009 11:04

Everything has to be perfect.

This is to be the first time that they will have a huge event like this, one that Jubilee in a way, feels bad for. Because she wants to do this for her daughter, the entire school has to be involved. Somedays, it's harder than others to remember how much she owes them all, and how she will never be able to repay it.

But ( Read more... )

Doug is here to meet Jubilee's little pride and joy, and generally catch up with his friend. They've both been so busy lately with work and, well, having a baby, that they've barely even spoken. But here Doug is, in a nice suit, munching a cookie, and happily making funny faces in Cati's direction.

Everyone wants to make faces at Cati, and really, she's the star of the day and it's obvious she knows it. She's just so happy and gurgling away.

Jubilee is ecstatic.

"Hey Mr. Hamguin," she calls out, happily. "What's the good word? See my perfect darling? Wanna hold her?" He'd be the first to say no, if he turned her down.

"They're all good words," Doug says in all seriousness, and then beams. "Sure! And she's totally gorgeous, by the way. Because I'm sure no one else has mentioned that yet."

"I like hearing it," she replies, handing him over the baby. By this point, Cati doesn't even bat an eye.

It's one thing Jubilee adores about her baby (one of many, that is). Cati is just chill, and relaxes, no matter what.

"How was your trip???"

Tabby is a beaming godmother. Not only has she eaten many of the cookies she's laid eyes on, she also gave Jubilee earlier a bouquet of sunflowers, for her and for Cati. They're bright and cheerful and yellow. Tabby knows Juju monster will be fond of that.

Tabby is wearing a pretty white sundress she bought earlier in the week - she bought it, ladies and gentlemen, no more theft for this gal! - and her hair's in bouncy waves. She's very proud of her shiny hair.

Shiny things distract her.

And yes, she is demanding to hold her goddaughter.

Jubilee hands over Cati without a problem. The baby is content to be passed around, and makes sure her godmother knows she's happy by drooling on her dress.

With a wry smile, she also hands over a cloth. "You'll need this, that's for sure," she says, a laugh in her voice. "What's up, Tabby cat?"

"Awww she's the only person in the world that can drool on me!" Tabby declares, hugging Cati to her. She's surprisingly good at carrying her. She used to be scared she'd drop babies but Cati just curls into her.

"I'm good Juju be. Work and Sam take up a lot of my time! I imagine this little cutie takes up all of yours."

"She does, but it's okay, I don't mind." And it's only a half truth. In actuality, she is starting to go a little crazy doing sweet f all, day in and day out, but Paige has been making her exercise so that keeps her busy too now.

Thank god for that.

"She's just too little to be left alone really, but damn if I can't wait to do something else. I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do in September..if I should go to school or not...I was thinking of maybe getting into the fashion program at NYU but it'd have to be in Jan.Then this cutie, would be like...8 months and that's okay to leave right?"

Alex is thrilled with the way the day has gone so far, and he can't stop smiling. Cati has been such a good girl, and she looks beautiful in her little white outfit-thing.

After grabbing a few cookies from the Roguester, Alex goes over to Jubilee and gives her a kiss before he snags Cati, cuddling her. "Hey, pretty girl," he whispers against Cati's chubby little face. He looks around as he cradles Cati in his arms, figuring it's probably one of the last moments he'll actually get to hold her that afternoon.

Jubilee's mouth hurts from smiling, and that says a lot.

"It's hot out," she whines, because well, it's her non-husband, so of course she can whine and complain. "Why can't outside come with air conditioning?" To anyone else, she's sure this would sound stupid, but anything to Alex sounds stupid, so she doesn't care.

"I bet Cati's melting in that dress." She frowns. "Can we have a naked baby outside? Would people remove our kid for that?"

"It is hot," Alex agrees with a grin. "And the outside should totally have air conditioning, Pickle. It's an injustice," he added as he fanned her with his hand...which basically did nothing, "one which I plan on having fixed once Pickle Day is made official." He leaned over and kissed her nose.

Without saying much else, he carefully undid the white thing and pulled it gently over Cati's head, handing it to Jubilee. "We'll leave the booties and the diaper on...she's totally good now." Lifting her up in his arms, he blew a raspberry on Cati's belly. "See? Good to go."

Jubilee giggled. He was just so good with Cati that it made her happy. No one should have to suffer through bad parents.

And then a thought.

"We're not having any more right," she said warily. "I mean, she's great and all but yeah...just wondering."

Jubilee is thrilled he's not smoking. "I don't want you killing her brain cells," she states, handing over her daughter. "I mean, god, with me as her mom? She probably has none to begin with!"

She chooses not to mention Alex's lack of common sense either.

"How was the land down under??? Did you manage to find me what I wanted?"

She's expecting a no.

When you have fairy godmothers (er, and fathers), then anyone who has ever read a fairy story knows that you need the Bad Fairy to show up.

Don't tell her she's not wanted. THAT gets peole falling asleep for a hundred years and crap.

Illyana Rasputina is not precisely a fan of babies. They are small and pink and moist and probably taste good, but they aren't very interesting until they get old enough to get into trouble. Still, she likes Jubilee, so she's here.

"Hi Illyana," Jubilee calls out, maneuvering through the crowds of people. She actually doesn't have the baby at the moment, having handed her to someone, but she can definitely hunt her down if the other girl asks.

"Thanks for coming!! Did you get a chance to see the embodiment of my perfection??" Jubilee beams. "She's just so itty bitty and adorable!"

tm_magik June 3 2009, 15:37:54 UTC
"You exaggerate a LOT," Illyana says flatly. "And yes. Your... what do you call Alex? Anyway. I have seen her with him. He makes a good father, whatever else his flaws."

She tips her head to one side and studies Jubilee calmly. "This party is your idea? To bless the child?"

"Ha, I don't call him much other than a moron, but when I DO have to refer to him in public, I just call him my non-husband." She shrugs, a smile still firmly planted on her face. "But I figure it works!"

"And yeah. I'm not really religious so I didn't want a baptism, but I kinda wanted an excuse to have everyone finally meet her and stuff....and come on! Rogue made cookies!"
