I just talked to Mum about my options for the summer. She was really against me going off to Latin America or to Asia or anywhere on my own to do one of these volunteer projects. After she rang off I got really annoyed about it - all I want to do is something GOOD and she won't let me, but my brother has been off to Peru, and to Kyrgyzstan and all

Yeah she range me when she got the text and we talked and I think it's fine now. I just felt really bad about it :/

Oh dear :( I know how frustrating it must be to not be accorded the freedom to do something good and something that will be meaningful to you. My brothers were always allowed to do stuff I wasn't and it always frustrated me.

Is there any chance that this text may actually help change her mind? I mean, I understand your mum would be upset by what you wrote about her, but if you keep appealing to her, maybe in time she'll understand how desperate you are to do this? I'm sorry if that's a really stupid suggestion, but I do hope that you can go to Latin America or Asia in the summer.

Yeah she rang me and said if it was something I really wanted to do then she wouldn't stop me. I just feel guilty still though :/
