Yay! What a great quote. I'm indebted to celticfeminist for using her icon at the perfect-est moment. And now I want to watch Arrested Development again.
There is very littel to redeem the current Flash Gordon series, but I am mightily amused that their theme music is based on the Queen theme song from the 1980 movie. I should be embarrased by how often I rented that movie when I was younger, but I can't quite manage it.
Don't even think about being embarrassed about that around here! My brother and I owned the VHS and watched it repeatedly, at very young ages. I was in high school before I realized it wasn't a deadly serious story. *g* But man, it's gotta be some of the best camp ever.
I was disappointed by the new series because it takes itself so seriously. I did watch a few episodes and kept waiting for the Queen theme song, but it seemed like they only ever used it in promos. Did they finally turn it into the theme song?
Yaaaay, I'm glad! That icon was surprisingly hard to make, but the idea would not leave me alone. ::bows to the awesomeness of Flash Gordon and Queen's soundtrack::
The Pratchett ones are awesome! As far as the four food groups, I heartily* agree. Which is why my alltime favorite middle-of-the-night place to eat is Waffle House.
*Perhaps "heartily" is the wrong word under these circumstances...
There are tons more where the Pratchett ones came from! I just have to read more. The man is an endless font of quotability. Or something.
I am definitely in favor of at least three of those food groups. (I love burnt crunchy bits!) And Waffle House, oh yes. I probably wouldn't go there during the day, but somehow it's the perfect place in the middle of the night. In college I had a friend who was a short-order cook at the Waffle House, and he was a wonder to watch. And made great eggs.
