Jack stopped short. "Oh my god."
Owen lay in a pool of dark red fluid, belly bloated. Gwen stooped and touched the fluid.
"Coloured syrup. Jack, look at this." Gwen picked up a torn paper wrapper illustrated with something long and purple-red at the tip.
"Damn. He's addicted to ice lollies. Might be an alien compound involved." Jack looked at the wrapper again. "That is the most..."
"-Phallic thing you've ever seen?" Gwen suggested.
Jack chuckled, squatting by Owen. "This detox is gonna be interesting."
"I'm sure we can help him through it," Gwen said, eyeing the lolly wrapper thoughtfully.
