This is like a logic problem, except some of the clues aren't yet available.

My family has rain-checked festivities until Saturday, since the grandparents that host are in the almost boonies under lots of snow.

I have an extra set of chains you're welcome to, I just don't have a clue how to figure out if they'd fit your car.

Hoo! Really? Well, my front tires are 185/65 R15, and I understand that a semi-standard chain size that fits this tire size is "1026." Does that help at all?

These are them (not my ebay auction, just same make and model):

If you think they'll work I can either swing them by tonight or tomorrow morning.

you have a way of phrasing things that makes me feel like an ass for not learning how to drive stick at the ripe old age of 35. :P

Gah, you're right. I totally didn't mean to imply anything like that. I'm sorry.

Eh, don't feel bad. I cannot drive stick and I am older than you.

If there were an emergency, I could manage to drive stick...I would probably kill the clutch but I could manage.

Tim plans to remedy this and teach me again this spring/summer.

Yup. Not practicable in this situation, however.
