Is it worth it?

In the last few months, we started a new culinary habit in our house where my husband cooks one meal each week. I did it so that I got a break each week but now I'm wandering if it's worth it. I wonder that about Francis sometimes. I've made him fix meals since we moved to Colorado eight years ago. It gets better but, sometimes, the irritation of knowing that I could've made the meal more quickly or that there are three times as many dishes to wash (which takes him three times longer) make it seem not worth it. As a bonus, though, Francis is getting to be a better cook--timing is one of his biggest issues (most items on the menu finish in half hour increments) and his forgetfulness translates into it too (I'll find perishables a couple weeks after expiration because he intended to make them but forgot).

If I were you, I'd just stay quiet for a while, see if it gets better. Of course, I don't really take my own advice and keep trying to influence Francis's ways subtly and not-so-subtly with outright annoyance. I'm a hothead, I can't help it.

If he is making one of his recipes, which he has two, beanies and wienies and chili, he seems to do better but we can't eat that every other week, as much as we love it. But if he works the grill, the fire is way too hot and it burns, or he boils pasta until it's mush. To keep myself from saying anything today, I put a DVD in my laptop and put in my headphones so I didn't hear anything.
