Don't know how much shit you have, but honestly? I went through Craigslist and found a few guys with a huge van. It was more than I wanted to pay, but it was way last minute. I dunno, it was fine.

This was moving Sara's bed, desk, and 2 bookcases. There woulda been room for more. I think I paid $200? $250? It was wicked last-minute.

Would've planned further ahead in advance, gotten a better rate. Otherwise, it went fine.

I have a great guy.

He's moved things for my office (twice) when we moved out into a new office.

He's moved me, Theresa, and Matt in one day. Picked up Matt, then me & Theresa in NJ, unloaded Theresa, and then drove to Brooklyn and unloaded me & Matt.

His name is Robert.
I don't have a problem posting his # here, cuz he would love the business.

I'm pretty sure the rate is $25 per person per hour. May be slightly higher rate than you see on flyers posted around NYC, but they bust their asses and do a damned good job.

Just call him, tell him what you have (# of boxes, what big pieces you have, etc) and he'll give you an estimate.

Great guy. Highly recommended. By me. :)

btw.. where in BK are you gonna be? Maybe close to my hizzy?

Don't know you, but saw this on TES Community.

I've moves twice with Arthur Werner Movers. http://www.arthurwerner.com/ I had a good amount of furniture and the second time it was going from the top of a 4 story walk-up to the 3rd floor of a 4 story walk-up. I've referred friends who were moving to them and they were happy. I thought they did a great job. Check the link for prices -- I haven't moved in 10 years. (Just as a note, I saw someone else posted about $25/man/hour. I think what I paid was similar -- and this is a professional moving company.)

Good luck with the move and enjoy Brooklyn!
