My friends and family in every area of the country are talking about crazy ice storms...but it sure is sunny here! We're in the process of moving into our new apartment and instead of trodding our stuff through snow, we're sweating our asses off!
fell on my ass about an two hours ago in brown slush, ice, and what could only be regurgitated beer. dude, while it totally sucked, the experience will give me writing material for a week.
check this out pats: badnewswade.livejournal.com. i think i remember your being an anti-Valentinian, so you might think it's funny. i know tiff is...but somehting tells me this year might be different??? i wish there was a smiley icon in the shape of hearts on here. tiiiiiff?
also, do you know what actually causes sleet? i don't understand the difference. they're both moisture falling from the air when it's below freezing. i mean, i know the difference between snow and sleet obviously, but like, why does it snow some times and sleet other times?
I often check badnewswade's lj bcs. i've seen him post on your journal. Seems like an interesting fellow. I'm not sure of the technical difference, but sleet is, like, frozen rain. It's heavier and i guess it's sort of like hail, but much smaller. It sounds like hail when it falls. But when it hits the ground, it doesn't accumulate like snow. It melts or just freezes right away, and all you get is a sheet of ice. Be glad all you're getting is snow!!!
