Holy crap, look at the size of that cat

Greetings from the great state of Maine. I've been here since before Xmas, but am not getting around to posting until now. So sue me.

Meanwhile, here is a Wiglet. I've been having a hard time taking a photo that accurately captures his ginormous fluffy winter coat. This will have to do for now...

Wiglet is a big steamy loaf of cat. Most of it is fur, believe it or don't, instead of the usual layer of blubber acquired by domesticated cats. Too bad the bastard's getting ornery in his old age and more snappish about being petted, because he is SOOO FLOOFY

Aww, he's beautiful! :-)

Simba, our male bluepoint Siamese, doesn't really have a "floofy" coat, to look at him you wouldn't think he looks different from any other cat. But by god, if you try to find some skin to give him a shot or whatever, good luck! He has the plushest coat of any cat I've ever had.

Well, most of it is because Wiglet goes outdoors. He didn't have a winter coat when he lived in the city with us. Now he sheds off massive tumbleweeds in the spring.

Ah. All our cats are indoors. I don't know that any one of our three cats sheds more than the others, but damn, like I said, Simba has the thickest, plushest, softest coat of any cat I've ever had :-)

Suckers that we are, we are going to start interviewing candidates for the open House Cat position next month. While it's been nice not having to find a pet sitter when we go out of town, we're ready for a new little friend.

Plus our pet security deposit is non-refundable.
