stressed...and annoyed

just passed TWO FREAKING HOURS at the post office waiting for sedning a couple of letters. TWO HOURS. Could you believe it? Standing, with one of my usul backaches. and, to add injury to the injured, I was close to a woman who kept complaining the whole time because she had "somewhere else she was supposed to be, and do all these elderlies really ( Read more... )

That's an awfully long time, why did it take so long?

And I wonder if the first of every months is as busy, if it really is something that is caused by elderly people drawing their pension.

That woman sounds like she was a bit of a piece of work. She could have left. Or she could have realised that actually the world doesn't revolve around her going to the swimming pool five times a week, hey?!

Good that you're out of there now.

there are many reasons why, this week, I had to wait two times at the post office for one hour one time and two hours another time. yes, at the beginning of the month elderlies normally receive from the State their pension, but there is to consider also the fact that, if, for examples, seven counters are present, less than the half are open. and besides, postal offices nowadays here in Italy are also insurances companies, banks and shops, and when you they are serving you, regardeless of the number of people present, they try to charm you into buying something, and few people doesn't stomach to tell them to just stop....

that woman, oh god, I even went away at a certain point, prfering staying up than sitting at her side! and Really, I mean, I could have understood her, if she were telling me she was supposed to go to work, or had children, or some old relative to look after at home (like I do), but her biggest problem is the swimmingpool? I'd love to be like her!

Ah yes, that makes sense...the increase in people on the specific day, the number of counters, it all makes time longer doesn't it.

Work and/or children, etc. would have been a perfectly valid excuse, definitely, but going to the swimming pool when you go every day, it's definitely a very selfish sounding person! I'd love to be like her too...I'd love to feel motivated to leave the house, let alone go swimming often, hehe.
