That is absolutely excellent stuart. well done. you've excelled yourself. I was looking forward to seeing what you'd come up with and I knew it was always going to be good but I was expecting some kind of performance video. The narrative aspect is cool and relevant to the song without just being one of those naff 'it does what it says in the lyrics' things. It veers between laugh out loud funny, genuinely creepy, baffling (luke's eye patch) and cool. Completely fits the puppies as people and as a band. Will look completely in place in terms of professionalism on MTV or whatever. The editing is tight and clever, the camera work is ace - loads of cool shots, the live footage make the band look exciting and sexy, I bet they loved it.

You have absolutely excelled yourself and I hope you're proud of what you've done. I'm certainly proud of you. You should get about a hundred copies of the video pressed up and send them to whoever filmmakers send things to in order to be given money to make more films.

Well done.

Wow.

Thanks for the enthusiastic praise. I am quite pleased with it but mostly because other people like it, I can't have a proper opinion because my eyes are tainted (I mainly see the imperfections and things that could be better). I'm sure you can understand, you probably don't dance around listening to your own songs very often.

I feel i should say that the weirdest ideas came from some strange place in Luke's mind. At first I wasn't sure what the limits were; "Are you sure you want to include a greased naked torso with "sex happens" written on the chest?... OK, it's your video." I was really glad they wanted something bizarre. Luke wore an eyepatch because he wanted to look really pretentious for his small scene in the park, and err... it wouldn't come off.

I hope to compile a showreel which i can take round to production companies in london so i can get a job making music videos.

Thanks for your support.

Stuart, the video was thoroughly enjoyed by all. And by all I just mean myself. But I was quite impressed. Well done indeed! I will show it to everyone I know here in America. All two of them. Cheers!

The site was in maintenance, with the usual Pacman game on the front page. It's back up now... will check out the vid when I get back later. :-)

The male lead could perhaps have used a bit more expression and a powered bike, but the editing (particularly the gig footage) was top-notch. Looks like it was fun to make, too. :-)

The purpose of his general lack of expression is to make him a more enigmatic character. The use of bicycles was an homage to a Smiths video. Motorbikes are perhaps a little obvious and weren't available to us anyway because this video was made with a very limited budget (money was spent on some sheets, some ghost masks, and some mini dv tapes for my camera... and alcohol). Thanks. Yes it was fun to make but also hard work and a bit stressful at times.

i felt sort of like i'd seen this before because of all the detailled discussion about it, so i sat through it with a big grin on my face and felt like i'd been there when you made it. it's a very impressive achievement for both you and them, but especially you. almost as impressive as the fact you have updated your livejournal. i'm not going to praise you much here but i will talk to you more in detail about this and other things when a car brings you to my house.

c xx
