Wikipedia tells me that the USSR's KGB was disbanded on November 6, 1991. Was that information on the US news that night? In US newspapers the next day? Or did it take more time for the news to get out? I'm guessing it would have been a top story on the news and in the papers, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
