I was shot through the wall of my house, and my mattress. Bullets went into me as fragments, some small as sand, some much much bigger.

I was hit in the back as i lay in bed asleep. I felt the impact and heat. I bled a lot. Took weeks to heal, i was punctured bruised and singed all at once.

Most metal fragments lodged in my back muscles. Some worked out through the skin as i healed. That itched. Some stayed in and are still there. One big chunk is right near my spine. They are visible on x-ray.

I have scars. I worry about getting shot again. I worry about other people getting shot. I now have some back trouble. Not sure if it is related.

Your back problems are probably related to the large chunk near your spine.

You have my sympathy and respect, for your struggle to come back this far. Of course you're scared and worried.
