Bookmarking for Leverage fanfic - there's useful advice for grifters of any sort: "Picking the right group to claim to be assigned to is important - if the real green beret sitting across from you is in the group you pick, he's going to expect you to have some mutual friends. Better to ask him first, and then pick a different one - of course, if both of you are faking it, just pretend you know some of the same people. " :D

It should be noted that the Green Berets are also a specific commando unit in the British Army - 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery. (And. for all I know, in any number of other armies round the world.
