Cliffs in the USA?

Aug 11, 2015 00:00

Hello!

This might seem slightly stupid, but can I get the names of some cliffs in the USA, which if you jump from you fall into a river? Basically, the ravine needs a water body you can swim across.

We Tried Googling... )

usa: virginia, ~science: geology, usa (misc)

I searched for quarries in Virginia - many times 'cliffs' that one jumps off in the united states are old stone quarries. This led me to this site http://www.swimmingholes.org/va.html

If you use the search button on your browser, search for 'jumping' and they list the ones that have the possibility of jumping into the water.

Not perfect, but I hope it helps.

If just the USA in general: In Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania there are these awesome cliffs in: George W Childs State Park 'Deer Leap Falls'. A bunch of my friends have gone there multiple times to jump from them. Some are low jumps and some are very high - high enough that if you fall wrong you would definitely bruise.

It's anywhere in the US and this sounds good too! I'll bookmark it with Mather Gorge. :)
