Seeing the entire EM-band

Googled: Wikipedia on the Electromagnetic Spectrum. Also this Yahoo! Answers questionI'm working on an original novel about kids with superpowers and I'm trying to establish parameters for the abilities of one character. The UV end is a problem with eye surgery where the lens is removed or replaced, e.g. for some types of cataract - the lens blocks UV wavelengths, so people who have this operation can see those wavelengths. During WW2 this was used a few times for covert operations, especially signalling to submarines. There are lots of problems, not least that you end up with very long sight and need to wear dark glasses in daylight.
