You're right, a landau, even with the canopies up, isn't a good choice for country weather. A closed Brougham would be more usual (they were used a lot by country doctors). A Plunket or Sovereign might be a good option.

I think I'll go with a Sovereign for Mr. Smith: it looks perfect
