Coming late to the party... My house is located along a highway called 歌姫 Utahime, generally translated as "Singing Princess" (though the kanji are just "song [to sing]" and "princess"); this is a fairly common construction (other place-names include Utasato (song-village), Utasan (song-mountain), Utada (song-field). As a personal name, 歌川 Utagawa Kuniyoshi is the name of a famous artist. An alternate kanji for kawa is 河 (which generally has the connotation of a foreign river (though it's in plenty of Japanese family names)... or of a galaxy 銀河).
