Not a lot of help, but in my 1975 kindergarten class I had a classmate named Parmenda. Pity I can't remember her younger sister's name.

A lot of the Indians I know have a mix of English and Indian names, although middle names aren't very popular as far as I can tell; I know some without one at all, and some with just a middle initial.

Be careful you keep it consistent within the family for region and religion as well. (I'm not Indian, but I'll ask around about this. :))

I appreciate that.

She's a *very* minor character so I was hoping not to have to develop too much backstory, but yeah, I don't want her to have a name that makes readers scratch their heads.

Honestly? When you use the name 'Rohan', my mind automatically defaults to LotR and the Rohirrim before anything or anyone else. Just sayin'.
