there seems to be a lot more about what to do with Black hair at night than the following morning
Well, yeah. I'm not black, though my nieces are. If you don't take care of the hair at night, you have to do a lot more work in the morning. (Actually, that's true for most hair types. You can minimize morning care by paying more attention in the evening.)
Unlike you, your character probably knows that already, though. She's had her hair only her whole life. I know, wedding night and all that, but she probably brushed her teeth last night too, you know?

Yeah... I’m afraid I’ll miss something something so blatantly obvious to any black woman or girl over the age of 10 that nobody bothers to put it in a Google-able place.
I think it would depend on what she personally is likely to do with her hair, and well, how her hair behaves naturally. I have a few African-American friends who wear their hair in various braids, some who rock the naturally curly look, some who straighten it, some who choose to wear it short, and some who DO go ahead with dreads, which aren't as low maintenance as all that, as I'm led to understand, though I personally think they look awesome
( ... )
Style has everything to do with what she'd do. Does she wear her hair in a more natural way, 'relax' it, braids... Straightened hair isn't that hard to manage either, though you'd avoid getting your hair wet as much as possible.
If it's relaxed, most women wear head scarves to bed.
For the OP: I relax my hair (it's a chemical process for straightening hair), and my usual routine at night is: apply moisturizer, comb hair into a wrapped style (kind of like a small beehive), and then pull on a silk cap that looks sort of like a shower cap. In the morning I just comb it out and style later.
spike lee's movie on hair will tell you most of what you need to know. If it's an elaborate wedding Do she'll probably have had a hair net. If it's straightened and long then a simple comb thru. If short and natural then the same but probably a little hair oil.
I don't know how to look after extensions but look up extensions + hair care.
But hair and hair styles are a class and culture indicator so you need to figure that out in order to decide the hair style. You can't do it the other way around.

I posted some further thoughts on her hair type/style in this thread and her background in this thread.

If I answered that question I would have to give away the plot, see? :-)
