Setting: Tokyo, Japan, 2009. I am planning on writing a fanfic set during a fictional version of the All Japan High School Soccer tournament. I won’t be calling it that, but I want a high school competition with a lot of importance, though the information doesn’t have to come directly from that particular tournament; I could use any info on amateur ( Read more... )

1) The winter break would make sense, yeah. I was wondering that myself; what happened with studies, since they are considered very important, but the AJHSST takes place during winter break, so it fits.

5) Aww shucks. The popularity of the team completely slipped my mind. My idea was to allow a little flexibility between what really happens and the fictional world (the team I envisioned wasn't popular, or very well-known, actually), but it's not that fantastic, so those kind of things would still apply. Plus, it's against the rules, so...yup, I'm in trouble. :/

Thanks for all the info anyway :). I can probably find a way to spin those restrictions to fit the theme of the story.

There's an anime about girls playing baseball in the national high school tournament, if that's any help. It's called Princess Nine. It's about a team of girls in the boys' competition, not a single girl, but you might get some ideas there!

Oh, hey, thanks for that! I guess that if I don't make it realistic, at least it can be fun, huh?

High school sports.... The really good teams come from schools that recruit players from junior highs, so it is unlikely that a school will have such a limited number of players that they will be forced to have a female goalkeeper and make it to the finals. If the school is very, very rural, they may be desperate. But they probably will not be very good, either ("Can you run? Good! You're on the team!"). Soccer teams are mixed in elementary school, but separate from junior high and up. There is a separate girls' high school soccer tournament and has been since 1992 or thereabouts ( ... )

3) For the team that loses the final, would it be incredibly shameful or would it be acknowledged that they put up a good fight ( ... )
