For a short ride, use a horse. The gait is much smoother. A camel's advantage is being able to travel farther from water, in harsher conditions. The gait is a weird, rocking, side-to-side motion. To match your motion with a walking horse takes a minimum of forward/back hip movement. On a camel, you sort of have to swivel your hips, sideways and forward/back, like a figure-8.
I should think that anyone that far gone in pregnancy would find riding anything difficult. Could she not travel in a camel litter would give a smoother ride.
As I understand it, riding anything that close to term is pretty dangerous and difficult due to the decreased ability to balance. Even my parent's riding instructor (who was widely agreed to be stark raving bonkers) stopped riding a week before her due date, and for about 6 weeks prior was only able to walk with a lead rein. Also, getting up would be fairly tricky!
I'd say follow fuchsoid's suggestion of the litter.
