I've checked the tags but I've had yet to find a post whose information corresponds with what I need.

Setting: London, England, in the late 1880s to early 1890s

Also, try googling consumption, which was what the disease was commonly called then.

Just a suggestion but you might want to look at abandonedplaces to see if anyone has posted anything there. Mostly pics but they occasionally include information and links. I know there have been pics of abandoned US TB sanatoriums posted there but I don't remember any UK ones.

try google books. I find all kinds of really old medical journals there, including the Lancet.

This made me think of The Magic Mountain but it's a little bit later than your time period. Well, that and it's a really big book to read for an impression of things.

I can answer the question about the bedding and clothing at the hospital. It was not disposed of, but was washed in the hospital laundry. TB was thought to be transmitted through clothing and bedding, though, so your character's family may be told to do the same - wash or burn of everything in their bedroom.
